Kent Leyde, Chief Executive Officer
Kent Leyde is an experienced medical device executive, team builder, and leader. Kent has helped design, develop, and manufacture medical devices that are in widespread use around the world. He has more than thirty years of experience in the medical device and electronics industry and has been developing active implantable neuro-devices for nearly twenty years. Much of his experience has been gained while working at venture funded startups, resulting in multiple exits including two IPO’s. Kent is asked to provide consulting to a variety of large and small medical device companies as well as investor groups. Kent has an MSEE and has contributed to numerous research articles and patents. He volunteers his time reviewing research grants and participating in a local IRB. Kent is fortunate to have many friends in the medical device industry and considers these relationships to be one of his greatest assets.

Doug Sheffield, Chief Scientific Officer
Doug Sheffield is a board certified Veterinary Pathologist with a PhD in Pathology. He worked at Johnson & Johnson for almost 20 years in a variety of roles from executing GLP safety studies to directing numerous product and minimally invasive surgical procedure development efforts. Since leaving J&J he has had extensive experience performing neural implant and neuromodulation investigational preclinical and first-in-human clinical research studies at multiple startup companies. Doug has led the execution of a variety of studies including PMA and China multicenter registration studies. He has also led successful multimillion dollar industry-academic NIH supported preclinical and clinical research neural implant projects. Finally, he has significant experience in working with the FDA to obtain regulatory approvals for novel neural implant medical devices.
